The US Department of Defense is currently working in conjunction with Mariner Container Corp. for a 3rd generative RFID interrogation system with GPS tracking and communications (SATCOM). This system will accept RFID tag uploads and the potential to provide DOD with unprecedented on-demand supply and equipment in-transit visibility without fixed infrastructure.

This new modular system will maintain all the capabilities of its predecessors and, through the use of satellite, GPS and wireless internet, allow for true, up-to-the-moment global asset tracking.
